Seasonal 2010 Information

Dear Seasonal Campers,

This letter is being sent early this year to give you the opportunity to carefully review the following policy & procedures that will be implemented and enforced at Smith’s Pleasant Valley Family Campground Inc. (SPVFC) for the 2010 camping season.

All seasonal campers will need to fill out the enclosed application for review for a seasonal campsite for 2010. This will help to ensure that we are still a good match for one another. Existing sites will NOT be guaranteed for 2010. All applications must be submitted by Monday, September 7, 2009.    A $200 nonrefundable deposit must accompany your application if you are staying.   Again, this is due by Monday, September 7, 2009. This deposit will be applied to your spring balance if your balance is paid in full by April 15, 2010. If your campsite is not paid in full, payment arrangements must be made with SPVFC and the $200 will not be deducted from your balance.   For example, a river seasonal site is $1450, with a $200 deposit due 9/7/09. If you pay your account in full by 4/15/10, you would owe $1250. If you do not pay your balance in full, a payment schedule will be set up and enforced based on $1450.

Please find enclosed a thorough explanation of our rules and regulations for seasonal campers. Please note this list is subject to change at anytime for the good/safety of our campground.

Sites prices will not be increased for 2010. All prices include leaving your camper here over the winter but there is no use from October 31, 2009 until April 15, 2010 and no entry into the campground.   There will be no exceptions to this, no one is allowed into the campground while it is closed. If you think you will want to see your camper, please remove it at the end of the season. (The $200 deposit is still required even if you do not leave your camper onsite for the winter). Your camper must be secured for the winter if you leave it here.

All prices are plus metered electric.
·         River sites - $1450
·         Off River sites back up to road - $1250
·         Off River sites circle - $1150

Grass mowing will be $50 per mowing, non payment of electric by due date will incur a $25 late charge. We will be enforcing these additional fees, as well as guest fees in 2010.
One verbal warning of violation of rules, second warning you will have 3 days to remove your camper and belongings from the campground with no refund of any monies.

Every campground creates an environment and we feel that our guidelines and rules match the environment that we strive to create here, this is what our campers expect from us. Therefore, we will not allow for multiple rule infractions, as this would be a continued disturbance to our other guests. We strongly suggest that you read every page carefully and talk with your family if you will be able to camp within our parameters. If you do not think you can, that is perfectly fine and we thank you for your candidness. We are confident there is a campground that will fit your lifestyle and relaxation needs, even if it is not us!

2010 Seasonal campsites dates will be as follows – April 15 campground will open WITH ELECTRIC ONLY – water will be turned on if weather permits. Campground closes October 31, 2010 – water will be turned off October 25, 2010.

If you do not return an application and deposit by September 7, 2009 or are not accepted as a seasonal you are required to have all of your belongings and camper removed from the park no later then October 31, 2009 by 5 p.m. If your belongings are here after October 31, 2009 5 p.m. you will start incurring $25 per day storage charge, plus any fees occurred by SPVFC in the removal of your belongings.

Please completely read all of the following pages before submitting your application for a seasonal site. Rules need to be initialed and returned with application!

Sincerely,

The Smith’s
George, Amy, Kim & Scott

Seasonal Rules of Smith’s Pleasant Valley Family Campground Inc.

  • You are entering an area that may have natural hazards. The hazards could be of many different kinds, be aware of your surroundings at all times. If you see something that may concern you, please inform the office immediately.

  • We reserve the right to refuse entrance to anyone on our properties and facilities or add or change a rule, ad hoc, at any time for the good of the business and/or the safety of our guests.

  • Respect your fellow campers, their campsite and their property.

  • Your campsite is for 2 adults and your under age 18 year old children or grandchildren. Elderly parents or grandparents may be included. Your children 18 and older are adults and are not included in your lot rent. The kids’ friends, your friends, neighbors and family are considered guests and must register BEFORE they proceed to your campsite. All guests will be charged a visitor fee of $8 per adult, $5 per child ages 5-17. Your visitor fee will permit your guests to stay overnight as long as you do not exceed our 6 person limit in your RV. One guest tent is allowed to be on your site for the regular nightly fee (see below for more detailed information on guest tents).

  • Visitors must be registered BEFORE they go to your campsite. If any visitors are found on your campsite without registering they will be asked to leave with no re-entry until the following day.

  • Guest tent – you may put up one tent on your campsite for the regular nightly fee for 2 people plus additional person charge. THIS MUST BE PREARRANGED AT THE OFFICE AT LEAST ONE WEEK PRIOR TO USE.  There will be no extra tents on your site if you are not here. No one may use your RV while you are not here. Tents must not be left up when you are not present at the park (i.e., tents must be taken down at the end of the weekend and not left erected).

  • You are responsible for your guests’ actions while they are on the campground property.

  • Your camper must be roadworthy at any time. The camper owner is liable for any cost incurred by SPVFC in order to make your RV roadworthy. It must be licensed and ready to move at anytime, per the Ohio State Board of Health.

  • Quiet hours – radio’s OFF – 11 p.m. until 8 a.m. Radio noise is to be heard only on your site at any time during the day. If it can be heard on the next campsite it is TOO LOUD.

·         If your voice, music or any noise can be heard on the campsite next to you, you are too loud.  Remember, not everyone likes the same type of music. Play for your enjoyment, not for your neighbors. NO loud or foul music will be tolerated. Radio's OFF during quiet hours.

  • Alcoholic beverages must be kept in moderation, under control and on your campsite at all times. Under age consumption is against the law and will be handled accordingly with the authorities.

If children are found unattended or lost at anytime we will call the Sheriff’s department.

  • Please respect site boundaries and do not cut or walk through other campsites. You or your children may not be on other people’s campsite unless invited by those campers. If you are on someone else’s lot and they ask you to leave, you must comply immediately. SPVFC reserves the right to cross any lot at any time.

  • Water balloons, water guns, water hoses are prohibited from being shot at the canoes or into the river at any time. Harassment of the canoes at any time is prohibited. If you or anyone from your party is found harassing the canoers it will result in you and your party being asked to leave without refund. The people canoeing have paid money for their trip and expect not to have it ruined by our campers. NO EXCEPTIONS!

  • Electric is metered and meters are read on a monthly basis.  We read the meters at the start of the season, June 1, July 1, August 1, September 1, and then a final one at the end of October. You pay for what you use.  Outstanding balances are due by the 15th of the following month of the bill received. Any outstanding balances not paid by the 15th of the following month, will incur a $25 late fee.

  • Please report any disturbances to the office or come in person ASAP; reporting violations after the fact does not help. We need to know directly. We will try to keep the source of information confidential. It is our goal to create an environment where EVERYONE can relax and enjoy themselves. No camper needs to mediate or solve problems that the office is unaware of.

  • In season, any vehicle left unoccupied on an unpaid site, without prior written authorization from SPVFC, will be deemed to have been abandoned. Any vehicle not removed from the park within 48 hours after the last day of the season, without prior approval from SPFVC will deemed to have been abandoned. Campsite user understands that any abandoned vehicle or vehicles can and will be towed to a storage area on the premises at the expense of the Campsite User. Campsite User further understands that any titled vehicle will be disposed of at the Campsite User’s costs. SPFVC reserves the right to dispose of the vehicle in any way it deems appropriate including, but not limited to, the following options:
    • If the vehicle has been unoccupied for 5 consecutive days after the term expires defined in the campsite user agreement, SPVFC may file an action for the seizure of the remaining property with the appropriate municipal court pursuant to ORC 3733.082. The Campsite User shall remove all property and answer within 7 days after the service of said actions. Failure to do so will result in the court either issuing an order authorizing the sheriff, another peace officer, or a bailiff, to remove the property from the campsite and place it is storage or authorize SPVFC to seize the property and cause issuance to SPVFC of a new certificate of title for the property if the property is a titled vehicle.
    • Once the vehicle is in the storage area for at least 15 days, SPVFC may obtain a certificate of title so long as the value of the property, after the deduction of storage and clean up fees is less than $2500, pursuant to ORC 4505.101.

  • Any vehicle abandoned on the campground will be assessed a storage fee which will be calculated from the day of abandonment. The fees will be $10 per day for vehicles 1500 lbs or under and $15 a day for vehicles over 1500 lbs.

·         Insurance on your camper is your responsibility. SPVFC is not responsible for any damages, man made or Mother Nature made, that may occur to your camper. The management and owners of SPFVC will not be responsible for any loss occurring in the park due to theft, fire, property damage or personal injury. Anyone entering the campground does so at their own risk and are aware of all risks of camping outdoors.

  • We recommend the use of a surge protector on your camper. SPVFC assumes no responsibility for any damage that electrical surges may cause.

·         We reserve the right to refuse entrance to anyone. We also reserve the right to evict, without notice, anyone in violation of our guidelines. Camping and canoeing is an outdoor activity & is subjected to changes in weather. SPVFC is not responsible for the effects of weather changes. NO refunds will be given.
